Honold sells its freight forwarding division in Augsburg to HWL

Effective January 1, 2014, the Honold Logistik Gruppe has sold the freight forwarding division of its Augsburg branch to Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.  Neither Honold Contract Logistics, Honold Night Star Express in Augsburg, nor the Honold freight forwarding department in Neu-Ulm are affected by the takeover.  Honold Night Star Express and Hellmann will both continue using the company premises of the Honold Logistik Gruppe in Augsburg.

Silk Road 2.0 - HWL establishes rail connection service

A rail connection between China and Europe is still one of the major challenges in the logistics of 21 century. Nevertheless, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, the logistics service provider from Osnabrueck, has taken up the challenge. With success: Since mid-March, there is a weekly train between Chengdu (Sichuan Province) in China and Lodz in Poland. The project has been presented at the international logistics trade fair transport logistic, which took place in Munich from the 4-7 June.

Hellmann joins Sustainable Apparel Coalition

The Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) is a coalition of leading apparel and footwear companies who represent over 30% of the industry’s global market share. SAC members promote a common approach to measuring and evaluating the social- and environmental impact of apparel- and footwear products. To this effect the SAC developed The Higg Index which enables companies to identify opportunities to reduce impacts and improve long-term sustainability throughout their supply chain.

Logistics service provider Kunze in Bielefeld, Dresden and Karlsruhe now under the umbrella of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics

Effective January 1st, 2013, the logistics company Hellmann Worldwide Logistics took over the freight forwarding company Kunze, with all of its subsidiaries in Bielefeld, Dresden and Karlsruhe (Karlsdorf), and the all commercial properties. Kunze employs 470 people and has, together with the sea freight and project forwarding subsidiary S+L Forwarding, recently achieved a turnover of 82 million euros. The acquisition is pending the approval of the cartel office. Both parties have agreed not to disclose on the contents of the purchase agreement.
